Phew! That was a hot one, great weather greeted us at Leek Golf Club, after a scenic but long drive, only to be followed by an uphill walk from the overflow car park to the club house.

A delicious full English breakfast set everyone up for the round ahead. A tight and tidy course with plenty of undulation, that being a challenge on its own for the brave few how were not on buggies. Local lad Dean Connolly took first place followed by Steve Roberts and in third Alex Rydstrom. Best Guest went to John Foxhall, Longest drive to Mario Visconti and nearest the pin to Barry Moran, and yes that is the right way round. Cleve McCurdy pocketed the two’s tote and we were all put to shame when an 8 year old lad got a hole in one, and yes his Dad put a bottle on the bar. So onto our next event at………
